Best AI for Xiaohongshu covers and YouTube thumbnails
The short answer
For headline text, four models were perfect on all 20 covers: GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana 2.1, FLUX 3 Image and Grok Image 2.0. English thumbnails were easy for everyone; the mistakes were all in Chinese. Ideogram 4.5 wrote the wrong character on 6 of 10 Xiaohongshu covers (笋话 for 穿搭, 牧 for 驾), and Recraft V4.1 garbled 3. Seedream 5.0 Pro got every word right but refused one request outright. GPT Image 2.5 is the cheapest of the perfect four, at 0.5 credits a cover.
Results
Two attempts per model per brief, no cherry-picking. A cover passes when every requested word is right and readable. Extra text or a misplaced arrow is noted but does not fail it.

How we tested
Five Xiaohongshu covers (3:4, Chinese headlines) and five YouTube thumbnails (16:9, English), each with a scene and a one- or two-line headline. Every model got the identical prompt at about 1K; we ran each prompt twice to see how consistent a model is. All on Higgsfield on 3 Nov 2026.
Each headline was checked character by character. A wrong, invented or malformed character fails the cover. Our blind panel then grades every cover on whether they'd post it as is.
